Adam Fowler
Adam Fowler has a formative resume when it comes to volleyball on both the Provincial and International scene. Adam, a former Cupids resident, attended Memorial University through 1995-2000 and participated as a Sea-Hawk with the Men's Volleyball Program. He received many accolades during his 5 year tenure, including the team captaincy and being named to the Memorial Athletic Honor Society. Adam, has participated in Newfoundland at the Senior Championships where he received 3 All-Star Awards from 1996-1999.
Adam has quite the coaching resume to be proud of as well. He was a Provincial coach with the NLVA from 1998 to 2000, and coached the Gold Medal Midget Eastern Elite team during the summer of 2000.
Adam has since moved on in life as he now has a wonderful career and family, however he hasn't moved on from Volleyball. Adam, now works as an Excess Casualty Broker with Marsh Global Markers and resides in Bermuda with his Bermudian wife. He continues to coach however, his expertise has been enhanced through his involvement with the Bermuda National Team. Adam took the reins as the Head Coach of the Men's National team from 2002-2003. He moved on from Men's volleyball to Coach the Women's National team from 2003-2005. To top that off, Adam was named to the Bermuda National Team as an athlete in 2004, and continues to be an active member wearing the Bermuda colors proudly.
As an athlete and Head Coach, Adam has traveled to numerous tournaments on the east coast of the United States and Canada. He coached at the 2003 Canadian Senior Nationals, and at the Natwest International Small Island Games. He participated as an athlete in 2004 at the US Open Nationals, and plans on representing Bermuda in 2007 at the International Small Island Games in Greece.
When speaking with Adam he claims that, "Bermuda is a great place to live. I have been here for 4 years and do not see myself leaving any time soon." Looking at his resume, I think we can understand why. At the same time Adam is a true Newfoundlander and Volleyball Alumni. He travels home to Newfoundland at least once a year and continues to support MUN Volleyball as he follows both the men and women's teams on the Memorial webpage. Adam hopes to one day return to participate at the NLVA Senior Provincials in Gander, where he would see many old friends and familiar faces. His friends can only hope it will be this year.
